Be like grass (profound)

Be like grass (profound)

Beautiful morning light, accompany you to read.

the ancients said, "the wind does not break the grass, but it is weak and firm."

despite the fact that the grass is so small, it contains infinite power.

can withstand strong wind and rain, wildfire burning, growing everywhere, withered in winter and full of spring.

being a man like grass is not only a kind of profound wisdom, but also a lifelong practice.

01

if you are like grass, it is better to keep a low profile

Journey to the West says: big trees attract wind and wind and shake trees.

A gun shoots a bird in the head and a knife cuts a snake on the ground. when wind and rain hit, the flowers on the back and the leaves on the high branches are the most vulnerable;

while the grass in the lower place can protect itself from the high winds and showers.

when you are like grass, you must know how to restrain your edge and keep a low profile in order to live steadily in heaven and earth for a long time.

heard a story: in ancient times, in order to show off his family background, a rich businessman specially asked someone to write a couplet affixed to the door.

the upper couplet is: father Jinshi, son Jinshi, father and son Jinshi;

the lower couplet is: mother-in-law, wife, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.

but one day, a scholar came.

Scholars have studied hard in the cold window for many years, but they have lost their fame year after year. When they see the couplets on the doors of wealthy businessmen, they feel even more angry.

in a fit of anger, I picked up my pen and changed it on the couplet.

change the couplet to "Father goes to earth, son goes to earth, father and son all go to earth."

the next couplet is changed to "husband lost, daughter-in-law lost husband, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law lost husband."

the difference between numbers has turned the glory of rich businessmen into an instant full of sadness.

when the rich businessman came home, he fainted with anger when he saw that the couplet had been changed to this way.

in the Theory of Destiny, it is said: "if the wood is beautiful in the forest, the wind will destroy it; if the pile comes from the shore, the current will be turbulent; if you walk higher than man, the public will not do it."

if a person is too sharp and too high-profile, it is easy to attract criticism and envy from others.

knowing how to restrain your edge and hide in humility is the way for a wise man to live in the world.

Zeng Guofan, a famous minister in the late Qing Dynasty, kept a low profile all his life.

once, his family was going to build a new house in his hometown.

my younger brother sent someone to send the designed drawings to Zeng Guofan.

when Zeng Guofan saw the Gaotang Hua House in the picture, he immediately made the house much smaller.

and repair books for his younger brother, warning him that the current situation is turbulent, it is not appropriate to build the house too stately, and do not act in a high profile in the future.

the sky is crazy with rain, people are crazy with disaster, it is too much publicity, and disaster will come sooner or later.

as the old saying goes, "the sky does not speak high, and the earth speaks for itself."

mature ears of wheat always keep their heads down; an inclusive ocean is always in a low place.

the more powerful people are, the more they know how to keep a low profile like grass, stay low and grow in silence.

expensive but not obvious, flashy but not flashy, can you keep yourself away from right and wrong;

only by keeping your feet on the ground and keeping a low profile and humility can you gain a firm foothold in the world.

02

be like grass, tenacious to old

Bai Juyi said: "Bingpin spring pulsation, snow do grass bud."

in the middle of winter, the vegetation has withered, but when the ice and snow melts, the grass will regain its former vitality.

in fact, isn't it true to be a human being?

when you come to this world, suffering and bitterness are inevitable. Only those who, like grass, can withstand the cold winter of fate and can still grow upward in the cracks can go far on the road of life.

in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, there was a man named Tan Qian.

he has been studious since childhood, but his family is so poor that he can only borrow books everywhere to study.

he read a lot of books and found many mistakes and omissions in the history books at that time.

therefore, at the age of 27, he made up his mind to recompile a full and credible history book of the Ming Dynasty.

in order to fulfill this wish, he ran everywhere, looking for books and collecting materials.

after 26 years, we have finally completed a national discussion with more than 4 million words.

unexpectedly, the manuscript was stolen just before it was delivered and printed.

more than 20 years of painstaking efforts were wasted overnight, and the blow to talk about relocation was almost fatal. He washed his face with tears every day and was restless to sleep and eat.

just when everyone thought that the talk of relocation would never recover, he got back on his feet.

he dragged his weak body around to visit the retainers of the Ming Dynasty and the old ones, and made an on-the-spot investigation of historical sites.

after 4 years of unremitting efforts, the new draft of "discussion on the State" has finally been completed, and Tan Qian is therefore famous in history.

later generations commented on Tan Qian: "it is a miracle to create a great history book in the body of a civilian."

but the so-called miracle is just clenching your teeth and holding it to the end with ordinary flesh and blood.

since ancient times, has life ever been merciful to anyone?

in the worldly world, who doesn't have a heavy burden on his shoulders and is entangled with all kinds of trifles of life.

Destiny jokes from time to time to make the already difficult days even worse.

always agree with that sentence: pain is a compulsory course in life.

there is no antidote to life. Only by being as tough as grass can we get out of the trough of fate and resist the waves of time.

03

if you are like grass, you can be open-minded

there is a saying in the moral Sutra: the husband can't fight, so the world can't fight with it.

the mountain does not contend for its own peak, and the water finally enters the sea because of its downward direction.

indisputable, it is not only a kind of open-minded, but also a kind of realm.

like the slender grass, it does not compete with flowers or tall trees, but takes root in the soil and grows at its own pace, so it can take root everywhere.

in ancient times, there was a monk named Huineng who practiced very hard but was unable to practice Zen enlightenment for a long time.

so he went to bid farewell to Master and said he wanted to go down the mountain to practice.

Master was puzzled and asked him that he was practicing in the mountains, and going down the mountain was also spiritual practice. Why did he have to go somewhere else?

Huineng explained dejectedly, because in the mountains, many of his colleagues who did not work hard learned the Tao, and every day, except for eating and sleeping, he seriously meditated and meditated, but he was never enlightened.

he felt very painful, as if the little sparrow was extremely ashamed to see the Dapeng bird.

Master continued to ask him, "how big is the Dapeng bird?" How small is the little sparrow? "

Huineng replied, "as long as the Dapeng bird spreads its wings gently, it can leap a thousand miles, but no matter how hard he tries, he can only fly a few feet on the grass."

Master said to him meaningfully, "even if Dapeng can leap thousands of miles, can it fly over life and death?" Dapeng and sparrows have their own ways, so why should they compete with each other? "

Huineng did not answer, but she had an epiphany in her heart.

Zeng Guofan said: a gentleman will not weigh himself with others.

comparison is like a thief who steals happiness.

in this world, there will always be people who have more than you.

if you always compare the strengths of others with your own shortcomings, you will only get a steady stream of pain.

people have their own ways, you have your lofty ambitions, I have my bird's feelings;

you have your ambitions, I have my leisure, why do you have to fight for the high and the low?

Life is your own and has nothing to do with others.

Don't compare yourself with others in order to have nothing to do with troubles; if you are content, you will have a wide world in your heart.

04

Dong Qing once said: to be like grass, it is good to be down-to-earth. The wind does not blow down, the rain does not run.

be a grass-like person for the rest of my life, do things with a low profile and treat others with humility.

when suffering, do not give in; after troughs, do not admit defeat.

give up the desire to keep up with the comparisons, do not make public, do not show off, but live a good life at your own pace.
