I have just returned from Turkey. Here are some tips for friends who want to go to Turkey
first of all, whether to join a group or go alone
I am a group member, which costs 11000 per person for 10 days.
the route is a connecting flight from Shanghai to Tehran, Iran-Ankara-Karpa-Antalya-Mianhua Castle-Kusadas-Chanakale-Istanbul, and finally, a connecting flight from Istanbul to Tehran to return to Shanghai
the benefits of following the tour: hotel all five stars, comfortable rooms every day, swimming pool, gym, world buffet, Turkish specialties, MAN bus (bus more comfortable than Mercedes-Benz, And the whole wifi), should have a lot of scenic spots, there is no compulsory consumption and shopping spots to visit, tour guides will appropriately increase the number of interesting and cheap activities such as going to sea.
disadvantages of following a group: the degree of freedom is relatively weak, although most scenic spots are free activities, if you want to play without the team, you need to say hello to the tour leader, and the tour guide may not necessarily agree; the 2-day itinerary in Istanbul is quite tight, and there is very little time for the big bazaar. My opinion on free travel in Turkey: I originally wanted to travel alone, but I had my own opinion after my friends had experienced free travel and compared the strategies of online free travel.
first of all, the cost of individual travel is not cheaper than that of a group, and living in a group is not as good as that of a group. Turkish inns are often 50 and 60 euros a night, and small restaurants can eat dozens of lira for two people at random. Tossing and turning between cities often come across the annoying experience of being thrown out of the car on the way.
secondly, don't believe any solo travel notes. I suspect they were all written by the shooter because my friend came back from Turkey to say that solo travel in Turkey is self-abuse. The night bus is not as beautiful as it is written in other people's travel notes. You can't sleep well if you sit on the bus all night and stop on the way to rest.
third, Turks can speak English to the extreme. Except for people in major scenic spots who can point English, others rely on body language. And the Turks are blatantly asking high prices for tourists. Even if you make a counteroffer, he will play dumb for you in Turkish even if you understand. They are not afraid that there will be no business.
A deep tour of this, a remote Mediterranean town, you can only surf the Internet at the hotel, or take pictures in the surrounding town with a camera. The town is full of Turkish people, and it will take half a day if you want to buy ice cream and black tea. Not to mention haggling over olive oil or talking about history and football with the locals over black tea.
of course, solo travel has some advantages, such as Capa's red and green Grand Slam, it is certainly impossible to follow the group. If you want to play comfortably in Istanbul, you must travel alone and stay for at least three days. It is also difficult to enjoy other saffron city Turkish baths, Fitzhier paragliding, and cotton castle paragliding. One of the biggest advantages of individual travel is that it is convenient for shopping, because the fixed locations of group tours tend to be relatively expensive in the surrounding shopping areas, and you can go to some small markets and shopping malls where the prices are cheap. In short, do not believe other people's travel notes, save effort with the group, and have no less to play, live well, sit well in the car, eat well, and the price is reasonable, but you always feel that there is not enough time. You have to spend your own time and effort to find small towns, small markets, and big shopping malls. If you travel alone, you will not live very well, if you eat, the price is not cheap, and the night bus intercity bus is not as beautiful as described online, and it is often deceived by the Turks. But if you travel alone, you can play what you want, skip what you don't want to play.
Bring out a sense of grace with our tea length formal dresses. Start the most wonderful shopping experience from the comfort of your home.
next is the preparation before the trip
currency. You can take the Huaxia card to Garanti to pick it up on your own, but note that Kusadasi does not have a cash machine, and Capa's cash machine is also very difficult to find. Ahmed and Grand Bazaar in Istanbul do not have Garanti, to withdraw enough cash in other places such as Taksim Square in advance. Only Antalya, Izmir, is easier to find Garanti's cash machine.
if you are with a group, bring US dollars and change more at the airport, otherwise, it is not cost-effective to settle purchases in US dollars. With the group, it is not recommended to deposit UnionPay and then go to Garanti. Only Antalya can see two Garanti, within walking distance of one hour. There is no sign of Garanti in other places.
the next step is to eat. Many people have not been used to the Turkish diet for the simple reason that their food lacks the soul of cooking salt, so whether they travel alone or in a group, they usually pay more attention to taste. It is recommended to bring some snacks or a bottle of sauce similar to Lao Gan's mother, which can be rescued when you can't get used to it.
if you can eat fried rice with salt at home, you can eat it all over Turkey without any strategy if you can't stop eating several bowls as I do!
there are many kinds of barbecue rolls in Turkey, including chicken, beef, vegetables, and French fries. If you are free to eat, you can find your strategy to do your homework, but don't believe the price in any strategy. It's all a lie. For your reference, in the Istanbul barbecue restaurant chain Little Deer Bambi, a basic chicken kebab is 4.75lira, with chicken and French fries in a big bread. A girl with a small appetite can eat a snack for the whole afternoon, but when it comes to dinner, one is not enough. There is also a small beef hamburger with 3 lire. I took a look at it. If it is for dinner, I have to eat at least 12 to be full.
Pizza, the Turkish characteristic is the pizza with mutton on the cake, which is very thin and tastes good, but since I eat it with a group meal, the price is not clear.
milk cheese, cheese control the world, but there are several kinds of ultra-salty cheese commonly known as European fermented bean curd to distinguish themselves, the others are still very delicious, with free bread, you can eat very well in restaurants. I'm afraid there is no cheese meal for solo travel.
bread, European bread is delicious! Either way! But unlike the domestic ones, most of them are hard whole wheat bread, that is, the bread with a hard shell and inside is as hard as stone. Bread can be eaten infinitely free in Turkish restaurants.
Turkey's Starbucks, latte 6.75 lire medium cup. Coke cans range from 1.25 lire to 6 lire, and most supermarkets and convenience stores cost 2.5 lire. About the Istanbul City Cup, it is not almost available from Starbucks as described in the solo trip, and Starbucks near Istanbul's Grand Bazaar can also buy cups from other cities, so it is still a good choice to give them away. One of the espresso cups is 15 lire. A big 45 lira.
A small cup of black tea drunk by Turks, the cheapest is 0.5 lira, in most places, it is 1.5 to 2 lira, and the more expensive wine is not topped. Pomegranate juice, drink desperately in Cappadocia. If you leave Capa, you can only buy a drink of 10 lire in Istanbul. It is difficult to find pomegranate juice elsewhere.
cherries can be bought for a kilogram of 5-6 lira, as well as a kilogram of the higher quality 15 lire.
Strawberries are only seen in supermarkets in Istanbul, and they are also very cheap.
yogurt, if you don't like it, add honey! Amitabha Buddha without honey, because every meal with a group tour has yogurt and honey.
dessert, except for rice pudding, all desserts are sweet to heartache. Give it a try, buy the smallest one, and then continue to buy it.
eggplant, the Turks can be said to be unique in making eggplant. Be sure to try different kinds of eggplant, which are completely different from the domestic ones.
Shopping, first of all, ceramics. Don't believe the ceramic store in Mianhuabao town in the online travel strategy. Although the price is already cheap, it is still very expensive. Ceramics are only recommended in two places, the souvenir shop of the Cappadocia Natural Museum and the small shop at the entrance, with the smallest bowl ranging from 3 lire to 5 lire, a larger 7 lira, and a larger 15 lira. The quality and workmanship of the souvenir shop are better, and the distinctive Turkish blue is slightly more expensive, but it is also the cheapest official souvenir shop in Turkey to sell bowls.
followed by Big Bazaar, the first porcelain store at Gate 1, small bowl 2.5 lire, medium bowl 5 lire, large bowl 7.5 lire.
there are only two points for buying porcelain. You don't need to look at
wool scarves in other places. Most of them are produced in Yiwu, but you should know that you can't buy them even if you see them in Yiwu, because they are not retail, and they are only exported to the Middle East, so you can still start with good-looking patterns. 27 lira is the cheapest I have ever bought, and the bus price is less than 30 lira at 40 lire.
Sheepskin products, Cappadocia will buy what is suitable, and then the farther away from Capa, the more expensive it will be. A decent leather coat can be taken down at 3000 to 5000 yuan.
Wool blankets, all handmade things, the price is not outrageous. Just take a look, unless your trench.
Olive products, olive oil, olive soap, and so on, the oil in the supermarket is the cheapest in Turkey, packed in iron buckets. Every time the Chinese team leader comes to empty a box to carry a few boxes of oil back, there is a Migros chain store, which is cheaper than Carrefour. The price of olive soap is 2-3 lira per bar, and the beautifully packaged one is a little more expensive, but I don't think it's very interesting to unpack it.
if you travel alone, you can go to a small town called Evalek, which is rich in olives. There are many oil extraction workshops in the town, which are squeezed out and labeled, and sold in the store. The price is cheap and the packaging is exquisite.
other sugars and teas are bought in the supermarket
blue eyes. Cappadocia is the cheapest. Buy it when you see it, especially the one with exquisite weaving craftsmanship. For other single blue-eyed pendants, just go back to Taobao and buy them. A small 1-2 lira, the big price is hard to say, depending on the craftsmanship, material, and size.
delight, nuts, tea, the supermarket buys the cheapest and most reliable sepiolite products
. The sepiolite pipes in Big Bazaar are more than 400 lire, less than a few prices, but this is the price. The souvenir shop of the Antalya Museum also has sepiolite pipes, 380 lire. Give me a reference. If you need anything, you can check it out and ask more. Other scenic spots also have so-called sepiolite pipes, dozens of lira, all fake and plastic.
Hot air balloons, whether traveling alone or in a group, can be booked online by themselves, but at least 3 days in advance, otherwise it will be tragic if they fail to book.
three big royal, butterfly, Cappadocia companies are recommended. If you want to be cheap, you can also find other small companies. There is little difference, but the departure time and reception service are good or bad. Hot air balloons are cold in the morning and put on enough clothes. If you go on a group tour, you need to determine your hotel in advance before you can make a reservation. The first batch of people who take off can return to the hotel after a little more than 7: 00, absolutely in time for group breakfast and departure.
go to sea, Antalya Mediterranean sea, I am a team charter, 2 hours, very fun, 45 US dollars per person. The Marmara Sea also goes out to see two Eurasian Continental Bridges. I don't feel very interesting, so I don't have to go. The Boros Strait can be taken by the ferry, which doesn't make much sense. The beaches, resorts of Antalya and Kusadasi must go to the seaside. Remember to protect yourself from the sun...
Mian Hua Castle, group tours are all through the entrance to the top of the mountain, so don't worry. Free travel advice from the bottom of the mountain, play after the original way back, do not try to climb from the bottom to the top of the mountain, this time it will take 4 hours, and you will be dried by adults. There is a platform on the top of the cotton castle, where there is a back garden, where there is a very clear and comfortable pool, there is almost no one, there is a bench by the pool, and you can soak your feet on it. If you don't want to squeeze with the Russians, you can consider going there to enjoy it. The antique pool, in Mian Hua Castle, is empty before 9: 00 in the morning, so you can go into the bubble, 32 lira tickets, and 5 lire safe deposit box. The environment is great. After 10:00, when the Russian army comes, there will be a bathhouse, so you don't have to go in. There are also several water pumps inside. What comes up from the pool is clean natural soda. Be sure to have a taste! Russians are filled with a whole bottle and put it back to drink. Sunscreen, be sure to bring more! The sun in the Mediterranean is terrible! Prepare a set of slippers, toothbrushes, and towels. Solo travel will be used, followed by a group of toothbrushes will be used, slippers can be used on the plane. Istanbul, traffic jams can only be done by prayer. Istanbul's strategy online has a lot of super-detailed, has a certain reference value. However, the prices and comments on food can be ignored, and it is very helpful to know the downstream play routes and scenic spots.
the roast corn on the square at the entrance of the Blue Mosque is good food for hunger, 2 lire, and it tastes good. Don't try the Chinese restaurant easily. The taste is similar to that in China, and it is neither bad nor delicious. But the price of a bowl of Noodles Mixed with Scallion, Oil, and Soy Sauce 50 lira, you can't regret it after you sit in and order it. Airport duty-free shops, usually go to Istanbul and Ankara duty-free shops, cosmetics will be slightly cheaper, especially perfume. Others are not cheap. There are many kinds of cigarettes, especially cigars and cut tobacco. For those who play with hand rolls, GV is 7 lira per pack. Players, where the Dunhill series is also very complete, the price is also cheap. The locals, who are a little overenthusiastic, can't speak English and drag you to chat and take pictures. Pay attention to distinguishing between Turks, Syrian refugees, and gypsies. Most of the Turks are not bad, chat with each other politely, the other party invited to take a photo can also be taken. Gypsies mean that everyone is my friend type, and there is a good chance of running into a liar, so be careful. Syrian refugees stop talking and get out of the way. Sum up these, after reading carefully, you will find that many places are different from the wonderful strategies on the Internet, because this is my real travel experience
